I'm Jason Lung, a product designer based near Edinburgh, passionate about solving complex problems through strategic, user-centred design. I bring a strong track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact experiences across B2C and B2B, from agile startups to large-scale retail and financial services. As a Design Lead, I’ve driven end-to-end design efforts across web and mobile platforms, combining research, strategy, interaction, and visual design to build scalable, intuitive solutions. Visual & UI Design
I craft elegant, intuitive interfaces that strike the right balance between form and function. Every visual decision, from typography and colour to layout and interaction, is made with purpose, designed to guide the user naturally through an experience. I take pride in delivering high-quality UI that reflects brand identity, enhances usability, and scales effortlessly across platforms and devices.
Research & Testing
I design with data, not assumptions. Through user interviews, surveys, usability testing and analytics reviews, I uncover meaningful insights that shape better product decisions. I work to understand user behaviour, validate ideas early, and continuously improve based on feedback. My research-led approach ensures every solution is informed, relevant, and rooted in real user needs.
Design Strategy & Thinking
I bring a strategic lens to design, connecting user needs with business priorities to define clear, measurable goals. Whether mapping out product vision, facilitating discovery workshops, or aligning cross-functional teams, I ensure the design process drives value at every stage. I’m a strong advocate of design thinking, using it to reframe problems, inspire solutions, and unlock new opportunities.
Prototyping
I prototype to learn, test and communicate - fast. From quick sketches to high-fidelity clickable prototypes, I use the right level of fidelity to explore ideas and gather feedback early. Prototyping helps align teams, reduce development risk, and make abstract concepts feel real. It’s a vital part of my workflow, bridging imagination with implementation.
DesignOps & UXOps
I bring structure to creativity by setting up systems that enable design to scale efficiently. From establishing shared libraries and Figma workflows to improving collaboration between design and engineering, I optimise how teams work together. My focus is on building healthy, high-performing design operations that elevate output without sacrificing craft.
Design Systems
I create and evolve design systems that bring consistency, clarity, and speed to digital product teams. I define reusable components, interaction patterns, and brand-aligned visual language that developers can trust and designers can build from. More than just a UI kit, my systems are built to scale, reducing duplication, improving collaboration, and enabling rapid, high-quality delivery.
